Bluetooth test in the browser: why and how it works

Web Bluetooth API is a relatively new technology available only in Chrome and Edge on Android and Windows. It allows the browser to scan for and connect to nearby Bluetooth devices. This test won't "break" your devices — it simply shows a list of those that respond to the scan request. If the device you're looking for doesn't appear in the list, it may not be in discovery mode, or Bluetooth on your computer may not be working at all. The latter is a frequent problem after reinstalling Windows, where the Bluetooth service gets disabled along with other "unnecessary" processes. If the device does appear in the system but the test reports "API not supported", open Device Manager and look for a yellow question mark next to the Bluetooth adapter.
